Tarawhanui

Check this for a very cool perspective of catching a wave...
Andrew writes, "Just got some pics from my brother back in Auckland, our equivalent of Jinshan, 40 mins out of Auckland, except there’s only three people in the water."

Baishawan blowin'

Mushy and choppy conditions at Baisahwan didn't stop Brian getting a few on the weekend. These photos look pretty good considering the howling gale blowing...

Schhhhh.......! (It's "the spot")

Sometime in the summer break, somewhere in Queensland, Greg and Gary chartered a plane to reach this remote spot. They're not saying where and why would they? No doubt a return trip is on their minds....
Can't you just imagine this? A field of dreams...

No one home at big stormy rocket

The lifeguards at Pointies were busy saving themselves, so Dave ventured on to the Rocket. Big, stormy and no-one out: just perfect! The only visitors got a couple on the head and went back in...this is more like it! Lots of big boppas till the arms just wouldn't roll over anymore...

Pointy Power

Tobes and a few of the boys went out yesterday afternoon at Pointies. Check it...

"Went to pointys yesterday, good surf and great fun. The rip was working on the right and all three breaks were working, Carl’s Left, the middle peak, and the right side all were offering nice sets. "

Let's hope we get similar on the weekend

Jumpin' Jack Flash

All sorts of fun for the young and the old(er) at Baishawan on Saturday. Jack Tobey handles this wave really well while Gazza stands tall against the rocks.

the HORROR

Wushi harbour wall
more wushi
and still more
Taj Mahal crowd
Dave cracked a few little ones...
When Dave took a look over the Wushi harbour wall, the scene was very surprising. Literally 100s of surfers have taken over and the Taj was not much better. Bring on the cold water and the big swells...if you can bear it, check the video below.

Celebrity Surfing

I imagine there are worse things than teaching Jennifer Aniston to surf....

Beautiful, shiny new toys...

Craig, Aaron, Dan and Tobes all received new boards yesterday and they look fantastic. Tobes' 10 foot mal with two tone wood is a work of art: how will he ever wax it?
No doubt the boys will be emulating the great Laird Hamilton on their stand up paddle boards very soon...

84

Brazil set the world record today for most on one wave: an impressive 84!
Seeing as the surf here in Taiwan has been so flat, I thought we'd have a little treat. Check the video above for some very heavy Margaret River action from earlier in the year....it is going off again now and many of the world's big wave riders are there...
