Dan, Nicky, Zef and Evie spent a blissful summer in Naiharn, Thailand despite the fact that Danno broke his treasured board on the first day and chased all over the island to get it fixed. Sit back and get a taste of summer again....Zef stands up in front of his skilful dad and both Dan and Nicky get a few clear water beauties

Storm in a Teacup
Where was the typhoon swell?? Pointies was flat, the Rocket looked pretty but Dave had to wait 10 minutes to get the shot of that wave. The cliff was pushing a few reasonably powerful lefts through for about 40 minutes which was good fun on the fish, till the tide and the crowd took over about 9.30. Not much after that....regular reader Jim was going to get wet, and the local longboard boys were really enjoying themselves in the glassy conditions.
Heading over...
Cam doesn't show much but cwb says winds heading offshore. Swell looks only mid-size at best and very scrappy. Might have a look at Pointies, then the Rocket.

Pasha Power!
The Pasha Bulka beached itself at Nobbies beach in Newcastle
Impressively huge
Ross and Ains came over to see Newcastle just after this huge coal ship, the Pasha Bulka, decided that the cyclone was just to tough to fight against. In the subsequent rather large swells, both Ross and Dave snapped their legropes. There will be some videos posted up top soon of the Pasha and a rather amazing storm surf at Merewether (language warning...I got a bit excited!)

Back...
We're back on deck after the break. Watch this space for more than a few summer photos and videos, including the amazing sight of a coal ship washed up on the beach and a lone surfer taking on at least 15' Merewether.
Swell charts here point to the possibility of a few bumps, but that camera don't lie...there's not much!
