East coast Taj Mahal

The Taj was the best option for a late morning paddle. Once again, beautiful skies, clear blue water and the lack of a crowd made for a fun surf. Dave, Dan and Zef made the most of the swell on a fast bank, Evie and Nicky had a good time on shore and even Sheena found a friend to run round in circles with!

Sparkly Jinshan

Tiny half footers greeted Simon and Dave at Jinshan and soon the Robinson clan joined the fun. What a stellar day, though! It was great to get in some (quite!) refreshing water and feel the sun...restorative. Nicky and Dan show some style. Also check out the slide show here.

Sion Milosky dies at Mavericks

Noted big wave professional surfer, Sion Milosky died at Mavericks today after a two wave hold-down where his board tombstoned not allowing him to escape the second wave crashing down. (picture above NOT of this day, but of Sion's most notable achievement, where he caught the biggest ever paddle in wave at Outer Logs last year)

Newcastle's Surfest is ON!

The round of 12 to begin tomorrow...Tyler Wright powering his way onwards. Check out the beautiful sands and swells of Merewether beach (Dave's home break) through the live link here.

Jinshan Saturday

Dan and Zef joined Chris to get a few nice clean ones rolling through at Jinshan on Saturday, mid-morning. Unfortunately, it died out and the wind got at it within an hour.
