Go Pointy..

Tobes gave me a great photo highlighting the amazing things that two people can do on a mal, but it just doesn't load on with any quality, sorry. As a poor substitute, poor old Pointy couldn't be lonely all summer, so it looks like he's met up with a Jessica Simpson lookalike.

High hopes

Dave was actually going to make the effort this morning, but....not even Tobe's tanker could pick up a wave out at Jinshan this morning. The video shows 4 to 5 boys sittting on their boards about 30cm offshore having a chat! On layout, I decided the page was far too crowded, so I've retired the video of Wushi harbour to the "Video" links (East coast Taiwan) and the game, Surf's Up, to a new links section with lots of free games for those flat days. Find the new section, "Games", under the video bar on the right.

The first featured wave in the video "East coast Taiwan" is the Wushi harbour wall that Dave caught going off last year just under this size and Dan and Nicky rode just last weekend....find it in the video links.

Splashdown back in Taiwan

Tobes reports on Adam Ulfers: "Adam was here from California to speak at the sports banquet. He learned to surf in Santa Barbara and now surfs at Crissy Fields in the Bay Area. He loved the warm water that one never gets surfing central and northern California. My favorite photo is of the homeless drunk who came down to watch us surf, dug a little hole in the sand for his beer and then passed out."

The Spider dashi cam is still down, but we're getting a nice feed from Jinshan. The pack is out and there are 1 1/2 foot scrappy waves offering a short ride. Can't say I'm super motivated by this...

Eastern Philosophy

Dan and Nicky got some small onshore scrappys at Taj Mahal ( Nicky-top) and the Wushi harbour wall (middle) on the East coast yesterday. The bottom shot is of Jialeshui during Spring break. I haven't ventured out this weekend...is it still flat over the hill?
Two more additives. We have our own custom designed avatar called "pointyhat". I'll dress him up in some different stuff from time to time...if the animation gets really annoying, I'll just put a still pic up. We also have a new video bar under the videos links section for easy access to some favourites.

Josh took the Lord of Jinshan back to his fiefdom this afternoon, but they were very disappointed with the "waves". A couple of fair ladies caught the Lord's eye, but otherwise, he was content to pose for the court photographer. (Photos by Josh)

Flat as week old Coke

Not a ripple this weekend, but Lewy has sent me a link of May's Point, near Hobart which works just a couple of times a year (see video above). It reminds me a little of Kirra, Lennox or even Angourie...very classy wave.

Carl and Dave had a great day out at Jinshan 2 (the cliff) today. With Pointies and Rocket too full, a tidy little peak kept them both interested at Jinshan 2, down the beach a bit. Site Update

• I've tidied up and re-ordered the Taiwan links for a bit more ease of use.
• There is a very heavy video above, not for the faint hearted.
• A new links section, "pod/vodcasts" with some very exciting footage to view from here or download onto your iPod.
• Another new links section, "photos" has links to some great surf photographers.
• I've eliminated or updated as many "dead" links as I could find: let me know if there are any others please.
• I've added a video (thanks Johnsy!) under "videos" of surfing the bore in the Amazon...pretty amazing.
• Lastly, during our last makeover, I lost a number of links, especially NZ ones that people had given me. Please give me those links (or any others you'd like to see) for adding to the site. If you'd like a new links section, let me know as well.
