Pointies at CNY

Well that's 3 out of 3 now. Wushi on Sat, the Ball yesterday and Pointies today. Dan and Dave got some great waves on the middle peak, and also missed some absolute screamin' sets, a bit out of postion one way or the other. (Dave stuffed up the takeoff on the wave of the year so far actually...!) Still, it was extremely enjoyable, the sun peaked through and the girls and kids had a good time on the boardwalk and beach. Special guest was a huge domesticated pig on a leash...only in Jinshan! (Slide show above)

Greener Pastures

Jinshan shot to bits, Dan and Dave not expecting much at Green Ball. Well, weren't they surprised?! Dave finally got the MR kickin' and Dan got some beauties. The support crew of Cass and Nicky chatted and took a few shots, and junior support, Zef and Evie, watched Alvin and the Chipmunks away from the rain!

An excellent call to go out...some set waves in the big pic above.

Mon-taj

The dawn run to the east coast proved a winning call. Tobes, Gary, Andrew, Dan and Dave found the harbour wall and the Taj not looking likely, so checked Dashi. It was blown, so back to the Taj which was cleaning up nicely. All the boys got some excellent waves, Andrew got his biggest, and Dan was mastering a takeoff then bottom turn around the big rock out the back, water boiling all around it. Tobes got a superb drop on a big pitching wave and Gary was making an art of pulling off just before the close out bank. It was cold (most photos were fuzzy from Dave's shaking hands), but not like Lake Superior! (see below) A very successful morning except for Vics a bit battered with a bruised and cut ankle. It's such a rare event to get a group of Pointies in a photo, so that it is a large feature today.

Also, this is a very unsettling article regarding the "Wolfpak" in Hawaii. Even though the surf up here on the north leaves something to be desired at times, at least we don't suffer this kind of intimidation.

Beautiful sunrise, clear skies, light offshore...what more could we want? Just a little swell please!

Tobes and Dan L got some fun ones at Pointies yesterday, but there wasn't anything for the crew of Tobes, Vics and GP today. Drive was good though!

Just checked surfella...looks like the east coast was catching the swell. Check it..
