Huge, Mean and Freezing!

Dan, Nicky and the kids headed out to Green Ball with Dave hot on their tails. "Greenies" was a heaving cauldron, the northerly wind and swell conspiring against the boys. It was an "almost" call: but commonsense prevailed as the waves were doubling up and not producing that famous Green Ball fast wall. They headed back past a huge Jinshan and Rocket to the little bay just beyond Rocket where the low rock platform has tantalised the surfers many times. It was not to be (see pictures) but this day was momentous for two reasons. Both Dave and Dan declared it to be the biggest swell and the coldest temperature they had experienced on the island.

Thanks boys - yeah met Chopper shivering in the rocks at green ball couple of weeks back, gave him a few of his own right back at him.
He kinda said the same thing to me as he does Bevan in this clip:

Ha ha!! Yeah mate, catching the odd ripple off the dredging boat over here in the Straits. My boards have become nice ornamental items in the back room.

This is all good fun! Dan and I have decided that Terry from Taichung (whoever that is?!), the Lord of Jinshan (our own Big Wal) and perhaps Josh from Singas on a guest pass, can paddle out into a seething Green Ball next time and then give US a report.
We do admit we've gone soft and need a few hard men to lead the way....

I have never heard of this Chopper guy but he seems to speak the truth. I will be out at the Green Ball this saturday to put my skills to the test.

Terry, I would be surprised if you could manage to take your hand off your sh-long long enough to pick up your board.
Aside from the fact that you would have to break your consumate past time of yelling at players & ref's as you watch from the safety of your couch and bowl of chips.
Guarantee you will be back on Monday with the classic, 'Yeha arrghh would've boys but it was too small for the board I bought along'.

I was out at the Green Ball saturday and there was no sign of you boys! Maybe conditions were a bit rough for you and weather a bit cold. I caught a few big power slabs and the left was really working.
Maybe I will see you boys out there when the surf is smaller and the weather warmer.
